Ahvero

The Fashionista Interview I had with @ah.veronika was truly inspiring for me. We talked about diversity, fashion shows, personal style, Salvador Dali and much more. I’m sure you’ll enjoy our talk, just keep reading :

  • How did you started your journey in the fashion industry?
    • After I graduated my design study, I started to receive job offers and to create different types of projects like logos. I got an opportunity to make an illustration related to the fashion industry, which brought me many fashionable commissions after. Once I found the world of fashion illustration as it is, I decided that this is the thing I want to do – it was in fact the job that found and chose me, more than the opposite hahah. Everything was spontaneous. Then I created my Instagram account ( @ahvero)  and my website.
  • Do you have a favorite illustration, a special one that you’ve made?
    • As a professional I try to reach the perfection with every illustration. So I always think that the next one will be the best one.
  • I went through your Instagram and I absolutely loved the fact that you draw different types of models(like a curvy one. Tell me, what do you think about diversity and the unisex fashion?
    • Diversity is something created by nature and we can not escape it. I love the fact that in the world and in the fashion industry we are starting to notice it – now it’s a rare thing to see a fashion show with only skinny models. I like seeing different type of beauty. Because imagine how boring would be to have the same flowers all over the world – how boring. Also the snowflakes – you won’t see a matching pair because they’re all different and that’s beautiful. It’s the same with people for me.

*but us humans…we are always trying to make everything a cliché’ and put boundaries all over so we could live an easier life – the sad truth we both agree to

  • Instagram accounts you follow for inspiration?
    • I pretty much follow the pages of all main magazines ( Vogue ) and designers so I can stay tuned on what is trendy and the moment and to keep my fashionable vision. (@alessiaglaviano) For mood boards and inspiration –  @c_l_o and @juliepelipas (I’m in love with her style). I don’t follow other illustrators so I keep my own style clean. But I follow @jasonbrooksart – he’s the first illustrator whose work I saw and since then use for inspiration.
  • Do you need a special atmosphere to get inspired and draw?
    • I can work from literally everywhere, as long as I have my iPad with me. I work from my studio, where everything is comfortable but also from every place like airplane, coffee spot… I work every day, so at this point I’m able to create no matter the atmosphere. And with time I learned that having a dead line is my best motivation hahah
  • If you can steal someone’s wardrobe, who will that be?
    • @carolinedemaigret – Her style is perfect for me, she’s tall with wide shoulders just like me hahah. @rosiehw also. They are both trendy and minimal, neutral but elegant. I like the feeling of elegance.
  • Outfit combo that represents you?
    • Surely something black or grey – I’m minimal in my private life also. Maybe something similar to what I’m wearing right now – turtleneck and wide trousers, comfortable and easy to wear combination. I’m a fan of expressing yourself through your clothes. I think it’s cool to be remembered for your outfits, so my wardrobe shows the real me – always searching for the balance.
  • I couldn’t let myself miss the “quote part hahah What’s your fashion quote of all time?
    • I have an art one that is special for me, it’s by Salvador Dali :

Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.

This quote really helped me because my problem is that I always seek the perfection, but after reading it I said to myself : “ yess, that’s right! Stop yourself, you don’t have to feel forced about making perfect things”.

  • My next project is gonna be related to recreating. Is there anything in the world of Fashion that you wish you created?
    • I love the Alexander McQueen fashion shows. And I think no one else can make them the way he does. His shows are art creations I admire and wish I invented hahah. They take you to another world, it’s like you’re watching a theatre. My favorite one is the “Spring 1999 – so magical. I’ll definitely try to reach his level and beautiful representation in my Fashion shows one day.

After the questions we finish our talk dreaming about our custom patterns. So you can expect from us a neutral abstract one and a pink floral one (I think we can all guess which one belongs to me hahah)

It was pleasure to have that talk to you, Veronika!

Waiting to see you in Saint Petersburg
